Job Goal:

 

Under the direction of the Cafeteria Site Manager, assist in the preparation and serving of food, clean kitchen areas, utensil, and equipment in accordance with sanitation standards and state regulations. Assist in general supervision of student conduct and do related work as assigned by Cafeteria Site Manager.   
  
 Qualifications:

 

  1. High School diploma, or equivalent.
  2. Prior food service experience preferred.
  3. Obtain a Maricopa Food Handlers Card within the first 30 days of employment.
  4. Experience with working with children in an educational setting (preferred).
  5. Ability to take written and oral instructions.
  6. Ability to work independently and complete assigned tasks.
  7. Ability to assist in preparing large quantities of food.
  8. Ability to work efficiently during rush periods.
  9. Ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions.
  10. Ability to work cooperatively with others.
  11. Ability to maintain routine records related to food preparation and inventory.
  12. Read and follow directions from a recipe.
  13. Demonstrate a genuine concern for youth.
  14. Ability to work effectively with students, parents, community and staff.
  15. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  1. Prepare, wash, slice, mix, and assemble a variety of food items.
  2. Make sandwiches, grate cheese, and open containers.
  3. Package meals for transport to various district locations.
  4. Operate a variety of kitchen equipment, which might include but not limited to ovens, dishwashers, slicers, mixers and can openers.
  5. Maintain kitchen equipment, utensils, carts, and working areas in a clean and sanitary condition. Always following a Clean As You Go Policy.
  6. Observe health and safety regulations established by the District and the State.
  7. Maintain open communication with students, parents, community, and staff.
  8. Represent the district in a professional manner, and in the best interests of the district.
  9. Perform additional duties and accept other responsibilities as may be assigned by the cafeteria  manager,Food Service Director and/or the Principal.

 

 

 

Physical Requirements:

 

Extended periods of standing, ability to lift 40lbs.

 

Working Environment:

 

Inside, outside, travel to school sites as needed

 

Reports To:

 

Cafeteria Manager   

 

Schedule:

 

On-Call, as needed for 4 hour shifts

 

$11.00/hour
